Long exposure photography is at the heart of his creations

José Luis Lozano was born in 1989 in Sherry, Spain. During his time in France from 2011 to 2018, his encounters with notably Susana Giron and Stéphane Kossman were critical in his approach to documentary photography.

Freelance photographer, he teaches long exposure photography since 2014 at the School of Photography of the University of Cadix and collaborates with publishing houses. He has also shown an interest in photography as a mediating tool in a terapeutic relationship.

In 2009, José Luis Lozano has recived the 1st prize in the Red Cross national photographic contest (Spain). He was present at the inaugural exhibition of the International Year of Light organised by the UNESCO in 2015 in Paris, as well as at the PHOTOKINA of Cologna in 2016. Also in 2016, he was invited artist to the 7th Photographic Festival “Nuits de Pierrevert”, in Alpes of Haute Provence. In 2019 he participated in a collective exhibition “êtres au travail” together with independent photographers and to the Magnum Agency in Paris.
